Hearts & Homes for Youth

Hearts & Homes for Youth is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth who have experienced abuse, neglect, mental health issues, homelessness, and other trauma, to make positive life choices and build brighter futures.

Our vision is to create a supportive community where every child has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

Youth in our care are referred by the Department of Juvenile Services as an alternative to detention or by the Department of Social Services to remove them from an unsafe environment.

We offer programs throughout the state including group homes, therapeutic group homes, foster care, independent living, a program for pregnant and parenting teen mothers, and a workforce readiness program. Our devoted staff of child welfare professionals provides the youth with therapy, academic support, vocational training, case management, advocacy, and life skills training in a nurturing, homelike environment.

Since we opened our doors in 1964, we have served more than 40,000 youth from across the state of Maryland.

World Day of Service

Every Year the Columbia Center for Spiritual Living participates in the “World Day of Service” by going to First Fruits Farms and helping pick produce to be donated to the Maryland Food Bank and other local Non-Profit organizations feeding families in need.

“O.N.E.” aka Outreach Empowerment Network

Our community has also founded this outreach project here in Howard County, Maryland. We work with local partners to identify community members of Howard County that have needs they cannot meet on their own or through the social services and other government and nonprofit resources in the area. Then, we connect them to a network of independent, organized and/or faith-based resources that seek to help meet those needs whenever and wherever possible.

If you or your organization is interested in becoming a part of the resource network for O.N.E. CLICK HERE.
