Youth & Family

Nothing makes an impact in the world like bringing generations of young people together and enriching them and their families.

Our community is committed to having an intergenerational quality that values and prioritizes the spiritual enrichment of children and families. We believe that empowering young children with the skills to identify their feelings and practice their spirituality is a gift that lasts a lifetime.

We have a thriving Youth & Family program for you and your family and we’re excited to help your family become part of our community’s long-term legacy.

Youth & Family Team

Kimberly Akers, Youth & Family Director

Kimberly Akers has been a student of The Science of Mind since 2008, and has been with youth since 2010 teaching the principles of Science of Mind to our youngest practitioners. Her passion is to teach these principles of Love, Life, Light, Peace, Beauty, Joy, and Truth to all youth. She has a love for taking the big ideas of Science of Mind and turning them into fun and easy to understand activities for children. She loves the Joy and excitement these kids have for learning these principles.

“There is a laughter of God — let’s laugh it. There is a song of the Universe — let’s sing it. There is a hymn of praise — let’s praise it. There is a joy, a beauty; there is a deep, abiding peace; let’s experience it. “ – Dr. Ernest Holmes

Leah Pekofsky, Sr. Teen Advisor

Youth & Family Programs

Daycare

We offer a loving Daycare setting for kids ages 1-4, all are welcome in our loving Youth Room. This is a safe space for the youngest children in our program to be cared for while you enjoy our Sunday Celebration Service.

Funday School

Funday school is for kids ages 5-12. Each week in Funday School we enjoy a lesson around a specific Science of Mind Principle. Each lesson typically includes a craft, activity, and story. We’re excited for your young ones to join us as we come together to explore how we can create more Love, Light, Life, Peace, Beauty, Joy and Truth in our lives.

Tween Program

Our “Tween” group is a special meeting held once a month on the 2nd Sunday of each month as a special program for our kid’s ages 9-12. These lessons are experiential workshops designed with this unique age group in mind.

This program teaches the same Principles Funday School in a slightly deeper and more complex way to stimulate and challenge these brilliant young minds. This special program is in addition to the regular Funday School held every Sunday.

Teen Program

Our teen program is built on the rich history of the Centers for Spiritual Living’s National Teen Program that has been enriching the lives of teens since the 1070’s.

Built around experiential workshops, this program is designed to help empower Teens to use critical thinking and apply spiritual practices to their daily lives as well as develop deep and meaningful relationships with one another.

This program currently meets once a month at Oneness Hall after sunday Services at 12:30pm.
